Transfer from Luton Airport to St. Leonards
St.Leonards-on-Sea is a component of Hastings, East Sussex, being located very close to the west of the center. The first portion of the village was established in the beginning of the 19th century as a brand new town: a location of classy residences created for the well-off; it additionally integrated a central public garden, a hotel, a church and assembly rooms. These days St.Leonards has expanded greatly past that initial style, despite the fact that the prime town continues to be present within it.
Inside the town, the most attractive features are probably the marvelous well laid out gardens including
St Leonards Gardens, Warrior Square Gardens, Gensing Gardens and Markwick Gardens.
St. Leonards Garden was initially created as the personal garden for the Burton family. St Leonards Garden was purchased by the community for £9,000 in 1879. The gardens use to have two ponds and a labyrinth, which turned out very famous and provided Maze Hill its name. Gothic-style constructions were constructed all around the wooded area. The entrance to St Leonard Gardens is an amazing Burton construction. The garden was bought by the Council in 1880 and opened to the public; it comprises trees, shrubs and lawn regions with a central pond.
The site of the Warrior Gardens was started as a subscription garden in 1852. The Council bought a portion of land in the south part to build a statue of Queen Victoria in 1902. Everything except the uppermost rose garden area was purchased by the Council in 1920 with the higher garden being given to the Council in 1930. Current developments consist of key re-landscaping and wall refurbishment, accomplished in 2001.
