Transfer from The Hyde (NW9) to Luton Airport
The next area established within The Hyde’s boundaries is Queensbury, also known as the sister of Kingsbury, the former location we’ve talked about in our previous article. It is important to know that only a part of Queensbury is located in The Hyde while the other belongs to another district. Queensbury can be considered a generally new region as it didn’t even exist as an area before the establishment of the Stanmore branch as part of the Metropolitan line in 1932. The station opened in Decemeber 1934. After the construction of the station an army of shops and restaurants started to apear around it, making the encircling region the most important in Queensbury.
A public green space can also be found in the center. Considering that the area developed mostly during 1930 the architecture generally belongs to that time period. The streets and public space were reconstructed therefore Queensbury lost a bit of its 1930 character.
