The plan was to transform the clipper in a permanent location for the college. Still, during the World War I, the College was moved to Foots Cray Place. The Royal Navy still used the Worcester training base until 1945. By the mid – 20th century, it was in a poor condition.
After the World War II, it was replaced by the Exmouth ship, an unusual vessel made from iron and steel and dating from 1904. It was used for nautical training. The Cutty Sark went out of use in the mid – 20th century and it was donated to the National Maritime Museum. Recently, it was moved to Greenwich, at a permanent dry – dock.
