Transfer from Iver (SL0) to Gatwick Airport
You cannot leave Iver without visiting Iver Heath. This is the site of a magnificent Victorian estate called Heatherden Hall. It features spectacular grounds and gardens. In the 19th century, the mansion was bought by the Canadian financier Grant Morden. He added a Turkish bath and a huge ballroom and he expanded the house. In the early 20th century, the house was transformed into a private meeting place and retreat for diplomats and politicians. Heatherden Hall is the place where the Irish Free State was formed.
Iver Heath is also home to a superb church dedicated to St Margaret. It was constructed in 1862 and has preserved pretty much of its original design. Iver Heath was developed around 3 main roads: Church Road, Slough Road and Bangors Road. The Slough Road features the post office and the Church Road is home to a parade of boutiques and shops. It is also the favourite place for walking for the tourists and locals. Bangors Road is the one that connects the Church Road with the Slough Road.
