Nowadays, Paddington station is one of 18 railway stations administered by Network Rail and it features 14 (+2) terminal platforms. The platforms numbered from 1 to 8 are below the original three spans built by Brunel in 1854, the platforms 9 to 12 are even lower, beneath the later fourth span.
