Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a sporting complex built for the Summer Olympics and it consists from a couple of buildings and special areas (Olympic Village, the Olympic Stadium, several sporting venues and the London Aquatics Centre). When the constructions started the park was simply named „The Olympic Park”, but after the Summer Olympics were over the park was named „Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park” in order to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II. The park occupies an area which stands over four London boroughs: Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackeny and Waltham Forest.
The park is overlooked by the Arcelor Mittal Orbit, an observation tower and also United Kingdom`s largest piece of public art. The tower has almost 115 meters and it is situated between the Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Stadium. From the top of the two platforms the visitors can see the whole Olympic Park.
Stratford Station is the main station in the whole area and in the same time it is the 19th bussiest station in United Kingdom.
Rail Transport from Stansted Airport to Stratford Station:
In order to get rail transport from Stansted Airport to Strantford Station, you need to take the train (National Rail) to London and then continue to Stratford Station.
