Transfer from Lee (SE12) to London City Airport
The other three areas in the Lee district are Horn Park and parts of Eltham and Blackheath. Horn Park was one of three parks that belonged to Eltham Palace. The region was powerfully wooded and was supplied with deers till the devastation of both during the English Civil War. The park started to be a farmland until 1936 when the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich started the development of the Horn Park Estate.
Eltham has a very high quotient of green space, with massive areas of woodland to the north and east, which include the ancient woodland of Shooters Hill and Oxleas Wood, Eltham Parks north and south and comprehensive parkland going into Avery Hill park. Therefore it is both ‘suburban’ and ‘urban’, and it forms portion of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, an Inner London borough.
Blackheath generally has a village like feel. The center of the town is concentrated around the railway station where you can also find numerous and varied shops, restaurants and pubs. All Saints’ parish church is also located there.
