Transfer from Stansted Airport to Eastbourne
Today Eastbourne is considered to be the best summer town in the UK, as voted recently by people that visited this glamorous place. In a place like England where rain never seems to stop falling it’s easy to understand why millions of people choose to go to the sunniest place in the UK for a vacation. The paragraph you will find on the Eastbourne Borough Council Tourist Brochure seems to be the best way to describe such a marvelous town: “Eastbourne is a stylish and elegant Victorian resort, featuring eight miles of coastline sheltered by national beauty spot downland – a great setting to enjoy a fantastic variety of activities, pursuits and top class events. The classic parade of Victorian hotels overlooks exquisite floral displays along the seafront.”
Among the great number of beautiful places that you can visit in Eastbourne, we find three main landmarks that beautifully raise upon any other.
The pier interferes with what would normally have been a ribbon growth of structures. In the west side of the pier we find high-class hotels while on the opposite side modest family hotels and boarding houses guest people that stick to a lower budget. The pier was open by Lord Edward Cavendish on 13 June 1870, despite the fact that it was entirely finished only two years later. Later on additional structures were built at the pier starting with 1888 when a 400-seater pavilion was constructed at the seaward end. The pavilion lasted for only 10 years when it was replaced with a 1000-seater theatre, bar, obscure chamber and office suite.
