Castlefield
Castlefield was one of the initial Roman settlements in England. Here is the center of the city sewer network and a transport center with a unique historical significance. Castlefield Basin joins the Rochdale and Bridgewater canals in this point. The Museum of Science and Industry is located nearby and houses the Liverpool train station which is the first in the world.
The Cathedral of Manchester
The Cathedral of Manchester is located on River Irwell and is unusually large in width in comparison to its length. The cathedral is located near Deansgate, on the northern edge of downtown. It is the largest cathedral in England, with pews and a pulpit interestingly carved.
The Lowry
The Lowry is an impressive arts center located on Salford docks. It occupies an industrial building which was at least partly painted by LS Lowry, who has lent its name.
The complex has two theaters, a performing arts space (1730, 466, and 180 seats) and the gallery space(1610 square meters) that exhibits works of contemporary art. Admission is free, but theater tickets must be paid.
The Lowry is a charity project that is financed only 15% of public funds.
