Transfer from Chesham (HP5) to Gatwick Airport

Starting from the 20^th century, Chesham has grown heavily. New civic infrastructure and housing developments have embellished the town and transform it into a sought after residential area. Over the years, it has evolved into a commuter town and thanks to the road networks and the Underground it has offered great connections to London. In the mid – 20^th century, various redevelopment projects were carried out so as to modernise the town centre. Moreover, in the 90s, that area has been pedestrianized.

Nowadays, Chesham has a contemporary aspect, but very few people know that the locality has a very long history. It is believed that the first inhabitants have moved to the area around 5000 BC, in the Late Mesolithic era. The evidences to support this statement were found on the East Street. The archaeologists have also found tools and items dating from the Bronze Age, the Neolithic era, the Iron Age and the Roman era. However, by the 7^th century, in the Saxon period, the region was deserted.
